The Ethos

VARA is wellness

On the Bukit Peninsula above Jimbaran Bay, VARA is a longevity resort designed around one idea: that the place you stay should actively make you better. A physician-led clinic anchors the property with diagnostics, biohacking, fascial work, hydrotherapy, and nutrition woven into the rhythm of every stay. A single non-toxic standard governs the entire resort, from the pools to the paint; even the water in your glass. Architecture, wellness, and conscious living, built to a Human Garage standard that doesn’t exist elsewhere in Bali.

The Property

One building torule them all.

VARA puts all of it inside one building. Arrival is at ground level. The clinic takes the first floor, with diagnostics, biohacking, spa, movement and nutrition on a single level. Fine dining opens onto the atrium above it. The rooftop holds the longevity bar, the terrace and an infinity pool at the top of the Bukit. Bloodwork before breakfast, fascia work at noon, a plunge at four and a dinner cooked to the same standard as the protocol, without once leaving the building.

The Location

Towering aboveJimbaran Bay.

VARA sits high on the Bukit Peninsula, beside Four Seasons and fifteen minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport. The hillside position opens across Jimbaran Bay to the Indian Ocean, holding the elevation while the coast stays close below. The view is protected by geography rather than goodwill: Bali could develop underneath it for the next thousand years and never build anything into that view.

Leading Longevity

Bali’s only fully Human Garage-certified resort.

Human Garage certification governs the entire property at VARA. Guest rooms, villas, common areas, kitchens, pools and clinical spaces are held to one set of requirements covering materials, paint, textiles, cleaning products, lighting, air, water, food and EMF. Every input a guest touches, breathes, drinks or eats was specified against that standard, then sourced, tested and installed to it.

About Human Garage

Human Garage is the wellness organisation co-founded by Garry Lineham, creator of Fascial Maneuvers. The methodology works on mobility, alignment and the tension patterns that accumulate through ordinary modern life, and it has built one of the largest followings in the field.

The Partnership

Garry Lineham is VARA’s Wellness and Longevity Partner. Fascial Maneuvers form a core part of the clinical program, and Human Garage standards shape how the wider resort is built, supplied and operated.

What it changes at VARA

It changes the sheets you sleep in and the air in the room while you sleep in them. The water in the glass and the water in the pool. The paint on the wall behind the bed, the pan your dinner was cooked in, the light after sunset and the floor under your feet. Each of those was specified against the standard, and several took months to source into Indonesia.

The Clinic

01 / Diagnostics

Diagnostics

Blood panels, biomarker testing and body analysis provide the starting point. They show what needs attention and give the physician measurable results to follow.

02 / Biohacking

Biohacking

Cryotherapy, IV and NAD+ therapy, red and near-infrared light, hyperbaric oxygen, PEMF and HRV training sit inside one clinical protocol. Each is selected against the diagnostic baseline, then measured again for response.

03 / Movement and Fascia

Movement and fascia

Human Garage Fascial Maneuvers are delivered alongside physiotherapy and guided movement. The work addresses restricted movement, accumulated tension and physical function: the patterns that quietly stop a body from recovering properly, no matter what else is done to it.

04 / Spa and Hydrotherapy

Spa and hydrotherapy

Water is part of the equipment list here. Massage, hydrotherapy, contrast bathing, cold plunge and sauna operate inside the same physician-led program. Hydrogen water is available in the spa and selected villas. The pools are biologically filtered and built to avoid conventional chlorine treatment, and drinking water is filtered for PFAS and remineralised before it reaches a glass. Hours spent in the water do not undo the work done out of it.

05 / Nutrition

Nutrition

The industrial food supply stops at the gate. Seed oils are excluded from the property. Food is organic and traceable, with minimum local-sourcing requirements and imports only where local supply cannot meet the standard. Animal protein receives more attention than anything else in the kitchen, selected on quality and traceability above all else. Cooking is done in stainless steel, ceramic and cast iron, never conventional non-stick. Food, gut health and supplement protocols are coordinated with diagnostics, treatment and recovery, because testing has limited value if dinner is working against it.

01 / 05

Industry-leading longevity and biohacking clinic.

VARA’s physician-led clinic runs diagnostics, biohacking, movement and fascia, hydrotherapy and nutrition under a single protocol. Physicians open with blood panels, biomarkers, body analysis and epigenetic testing to establish a measurable baseline, then build the protocol around what the results say. Every major component of a serious longevity program is here, with the body measured again as it responds.

The Architecture

Built into the hillsabove Jimbaran Bay.

The 31,270 m² site holds the Wellbeing Center, residences and landscaped gardens at 40.5 percent building coverage, leaving most of the land as water, planting and open ground. The buildings sit down inside the landscape, with gardens and water running between them. The most advanced clinical and recovery facilities on the island remain a short walk from gardens, water and open ground used for movement and grounding.

Inside the Villas

The villa is part ofthe program.

A third of a life is spent asleep, and most of the remainder is spent indoors. The room is where a health standard either holds or quietly fails, so the villas were specified with the same discipline as the clinic.

Conventional interiors keep off-gassing for years: solvent paints, adhesives, treated timber, synthetic foam. VARA’s specification removes those inputs wherever it can. Swiss stone pine panels, solid wood, natural-fibre linen, latex and organic-wool beds, and VOC-free, solvent-free paint were each chosen for what they put into the air of the room. Bathrooms use hand-hammered copper made in Celuk Village and petrified-wood washbasins.

Tunable-white lighting follows the day, warming through the evening and holding the room on a circadian schedule after dark. HEPA and activated-carbon purification handles VOCs, mould spores and fine particulates, with indoor planting selected to support it. Grounding systems in the building shell, optional EMF-shielding canopies, Ra Optics glasses and a Cornet ED88T meter in the villa mean the environment is measurable by anyone standing in it.
